ANOTHER TRIP ’ROUND THE SUN

Yesterday we celebrated the birthday of She Who Must Be Obeyed. I will not reveal which birthday it is. The people who need to know already know, and if it became known that I leaked that sort of information to the blogosphere, I wouldn’t be taking any nickels out of the jar for a loooong time, if you catch my drift.

It was a very pleasant evening. No debauchery or wild revelry (it was a weeknight, OK?) Just dinner out, followed by presents and ice cream cake. But the best present of all was our two daughters being, er, ahh, present for the occasion. Yes, we had the Mouth of the South and the Mistress of Sarcasm, both two of ’em! The Mistress is finished with school for a couple of weeks, so Big Sister flew down to Savannah, where they could spend some quality time together before coming up to the ATL yesterday.

We’re getting adjusted to the empty-nest thing, but it’s still a real treat to have the entire brood together - even if it’s just for a few days.

A damn fine day. A damn fine woman. Another trip around the sun.
