BLOGATHON 2005

A few of my favorite bloggers will be burning the midnight oil, combusting the afternoon anthracite, and oxidizing the morning propane - all in an effort to slap up a post every half-hour over the 24-hour span beginning this Saturday morning at 9:00 Eastern. [The Blogathon site says 9:00 AM EST, but I suspect that they really meant to say EDT.]

Laurence Simon will be writing to support the Cat Welfare Society of Israel, in memory of the Beloved Grumpus, the late Edloe. So far, Laurence - the defacto King Catblogger - has raised over $2,200 in pledges for his cause.

Now, writing a post every 30 minutes is no big deal to Lair, whose everyday output is downright...voluminous. The only question is, how is he going to stay awake for 24 hours? I suspect Nardo, Piper, and Frisky will need to chew on his ’nads periodically to keep him from nodding off.

I also want to acknowledge the lovely Bakerina, who not only will be blogging in support of the Windows of Hope Family Relief Fund, but her good friend Bunni, who will pound the keyboard in support of the American Heart Association.

Any support that you, my Esteemed Readers, care to direct toward these Stalwart Bloggers will be most welcome. Bucks, links, ’n’ hits - all are welcome, but I suspect the various charities involved don’t give a Rat’s Ass about the links ’n’ hits.
